He makes the case that Love is not himself direful and sacred of praise that depends on whether the sentiments he produces in us are themselves noble. (pg 15)

Managing ethic - Essay Exampleof transparency and that is only achievable through having an open sense and not bias against gender or color for unmatchable to have the trust and confidence of all the employees and the team as a leader. This paper uses the tacit Association Test to measure the affiliations and biases that one has and how they would influence a leader and his job to lead an organization or a company. This paper uses the results of two tests in the IAT to examine the leadership traits present and also investigate the different aspects that generally need to be improved for one to be a great leader. The first base test was complete to measure the racial preference score of an individual. The results were that the data suggested there is a slight preference for white nation compared to black great deal. The succor test measured how one associates a person with the good aspects of their lives and how the two related in filling up the study. For the second test the r esults revealed that there was no preference identified for one person or deeds over the other. In the two tests there is a difference in the type of results since although one shows that there is bias in terms of color the other shows one as a leader that can be able to handle the people without any form of bias. The two results are mixed, however, in the first test there is only a slight preference to the whites as compared to the black people in the society. The IAT results have revealed some facts about my preferences that I previously did not know that I had especially the preference to the Black people. I have considered myself to be very partial and not discriminative of the color of skin since I have been raised in a region where I have interacted with people from all racial backgrounds throughout my life. However, the fact that the results only give a slight preference in the preference scales reveals that although I may be considered to be biased it is at a very low and min imal scale. This further compounded by the second

When Worlds Collide - Essay ExampleHumans, however, could not help intervene in the course of nature and hence, assist in migration just as when the so-called Torreya Guardians plant Torreya seeds in spots of cooler region from coupling Carolina to New York. Contemplating upon the impact of climate change, Fox expressed how observations become inclined to thoughts of extinctions and die-offs so that transplantation by men, being the remedy accounted for, occurs to be a prodigious challenge among ecologists. While for ecologist Mark Schwartz, it appears inevitable to rescue some species by assisting their migration, different ecologists realize certain potential threats in this approach. Plant ecologist Richard Primack was bound to finish that our efforts to introduce species will fail on the basis of Minot Pratts gardening with 60 plant species out of which merely 2 new arrivals survived. On the other hand, ecologist Guy Midgley studied 6,000 endemic species where he discovered th at protea, a flowering plant, readily interbreed then brought a great deal of critical cerebration about the bothersome evolution of new hybrid species which bear the likelihood of eliminating the parent species being saved. Considering, nevertheless, that climate change is allowed to have sole control of rearranging our ecosystems, it would be like as Charles Darwin imagined to be an orderly affair between the movement of species and the change in climate it responds to. When this takes place, according to Fox, no-analog communities or species living in scratchy combinations develop a proven situation from analysis of species originating from the last glacial retreat in the past 10,000 to 17,000 years. At this stage, Fox figured that it is one social occasion to move a few charismatic species but quite another to move every anonymous species that human-assisted migration ought to be customized to meet such concern thus.

Culinary history of Georgia - Essay Examplea Christian nation, Georgia has historically looked more often to the West-so oft so that the capital city of capital of Georgia (Tbilisi) was once known as the Paris of the Caucasus. Lying athwart the major trade driveways between East and West, Tiflis maintained a grand caravanserai where merchants could stable their animals, store their wares, and themselves find shelter. Thanks to its agriculture riches and long tradition of hospitality, Georgia was an object of appetency for many outsiders, not all of whom were good guests. (A Culinary Crossroads 11)Georgian cuisine is not only influenced by Middle Eastern and European but it also influenced different neighboring and invading nations. According to Plotkin and Gregory, Georgia and Armenia contributed to the Russian cuisine, for instance, chickpeas and pine nuts including dishes such as grilled lamb shashlyk, stuffed grapes bring home the bacon dolmas and nut pastry, baklava (13).The Georgians date the beginnings of their culture to the sixth century BCE.The ancient Greeks established colonies along the Blank Sea coast in a division they called Colchis. In 66 BCE, when the Roman general Pompey invaded and brought the area under Roman rule, Greek control came to an end, but the outposts in Colchis remained important links in the trade route to PersiaBy the early Middle Ages Tiflis had become a major stopover on the medieval trade routes, a midpoint between Moslem East and Christian West. (Goldstein A Culinary Crossroads 11)Until nineteenth century, there was no concept of tea in Georgia it became a major harvest-feast in Russian era. It is quite a recent phenomenon as there are no tea consumption traces in history. Georgians prefer Turkish deep brown over tea and cups of strong coffee with a glass of cold water are a common sight in cafes (Goldstein The Georgian bedspread 6).Tbilisi itself founded in the fifth century when, according to legend, King Vakhtang Gorgaslani, on a hunt near the Kura River, killed a pheasant, which he

Rich Pictures Article Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 3000 words

Rich Pictures - Article ExampleIt was developed by Peter Checkland as a padded Systems Methodology for company information about a complex situation (Checkland 1981, p. 37). Structure, processes and concerns are the main components of any Rich Picture diagram.Use Case method analyses the expectation of a primary actor with the proposed system. Actors are the stakeholders of the system, e.g. end users and other systems that are supposed to use the system. They are not considered as a part of the system, only their interaction with the system is taken in to consideration while developing the system. Use Case mould is extensively used in software application modeling process and object oriented programming. A clear understanding of Use Case is necessary for using UML and other modern software development process. This disquisition will critically evaluate Rich Pictures and Use Cases as a requirements analysis tool. It will also compare and contrast adoptability, advantages and shor tcomings of these analysis methods. With the help of a case study based on a Children Support Agency and analysis of its requirement using both methodologies it will highlight the usability of these methods to different situations.Soft System Methodology (SSM) deals with worry situations in which there is a high social, political, and human activity component (Checkland, 90). The SSM is effective in dealing with soft problems that are difficult to define but comparatively easier to solve as presented in Children Support Agency case study. Examples of problem situations where SSM is more effective includes socially more complex but technically easier problems such as dealing with homelessness, illiteracy and distressed young people. SSM as defined by Checkland (1990) is composed of seven stages from, determination out the problem situation, expressing the problem situation through Rich Pictures (i.e., representations of organisational structure and processes pertinent to the probl em situation), viewing the situation and produce root definitions, make conceptual models of what the system must do for each root definition, comparing the conceptual models with the real world, identifying feasible and desirable changes, to making recommendations to improve the problem situation.Expressing the problem situation through Rich Pictures is a major phase of Soft System Analysis. Rich Pictures are most effective in analyzing the complex organizational structures, functions and processes. Rich Picture diagrams as illustrated by following figure are one of the best and most flexible ways for communicating systematic planning process. Following Rich Picture for the complete Children Support Agency environment outlines all major structures, processes, different stakeholders and their concerns. Figure 1 Rich Picture plat for CSA Management Information System. The above rich people picture modelling gives a broad picture of the situation. It shows clearly the expectations of different stakeholders from proposed Management Information System. Probable strategies or measures to be implemented by the authorities Essay

Probable strategies or measures to be implemented by the authorities for Counterterrorism acts - Essay ExampleIt is so much self-explanatory that the organizational head-quarters be of these terrorist organizations are situated in Pakistan and the terrorists use a favorable gateway into India through Bangladesh but worldwide fraternity hardly forever grant a cross border action plan to counter cross border terrorism. On the western part of the globe in the linked States and in the United Kingdoms the story of Islamic terrorism is no different. Over here, it is not a problem of cross border terrorism because in these cases of the twain countries, sadly enough, the Islamic terrorists are part of their own demography and most of the acts of cross border terrorisms are committed via information channeling. Thus it is more whole-important(prenominal) for countries analogous United States and United Kingdoms to formulate a substantial strategy to counter terrorism in the most effect ive manner possible. It should be remembered that the possibility of 9/11 took place when the terrorists took advantage of the American social way of life story where the number of domestic frequent fliers are high enough to back up a low security system. The same is true about London underground rail blast. In both the cases the terrorists took advantage of the counties way of social life and it would be impossible to alter this way of life putting security as an alibi where the menace is basically organized by a fundamentalist motive. No country should rupture ever under such motives. Prelude to the probable action plansIn view of the instruments found in the apartment of a suspected Al Qaeda member Anas al-Liby, in Manchester, England, May 2000 it could be stated that the systematic formulation of the general action plans of terrorist activities mentioned in the document indicates a well organized sect being involved in this procedure of destructions. It should be noted that few chapters like the Eighteenth Lesson Prisons and Detention Centers are truly gruesome and people who are able to execute or simply thing of such proceedings should be stopped at all cost.As it is obvious that the training manual not only indicates activities centering US and UK only but also is applicable to other countries as well, like India, who oppose Islamic fundamentalists concept of Islamic rule around the world. Therefore it is extremely essential to bifurcate the strategy into two sections viz. Domestic strategies and international strategies. Domestic StrategiesIn accordance to the training manual the Military Organization dictates a number of requirements to assist it in confrontation and endurance. These are1. Site Distance Equation for Crest Vertical Curves Research Paper

Site Distance Equation for Crest Vertical Curves - Research Paper ExampleThe altitude of various points of the crimp gives the relative difference in the level at different points on the curve. Also shown in the figure are length of the curve, pose of the curve and also the end of the curve. To provide easy movement of vehicles and also to smooth out the unsloped profile the vertical curves are introduced at the hybridization of the grades. Usually cardinal type of vertical curves are used in the geometric digit of roads. They are crest curves or summit curves and sag curves or valley curves. The crest curves have the convexity upwards and when a fast moving vehicle travels along the curve, upward action of the centrifugal force against the gravity and would relieve a part of the pressure on the tyres. This phenomenon would eliminate the discomfort experienced by the passengers wouldnt feel the discomfort while passing over these curves (Garber and Hoel, 2001). The crop of al igning the vertical curves along the road is influenced by various factors like the vehicle speed, acceleration, stopping prospect hold and comfort in travel (Wright and Dixon, 2004).The design of the summit curve is governed only by sight distance considerations. Though the circular crest curve is an ideal choice as the sight distance available throughout the length of a circular curve is constant most of the designs prefer parabolic curve. This is because the deviation angles in the vertical curves of highways are rattling small and between the same tangent points a simple parabola is congruent with a circular arc. In addition, easiness in computation of the ordinates besides the purify rising comfort given by crest curves gives preference to parabolic curves (DRMB, 1993). When the parabolic crest curves are adopted the equation is given as y=ax2 , where a = N /2L. The N in the equation is the deviation angle and L is the length of the curve. Since the crest curves are long a nd flat , the length of the curve L is taken as equal to the horizontal projection. During the process of the design of the parabolic crest curves it is necessary to consider the stopping sight distance and passing game sight distance separately. As indicated earlier, it is essential to provide sight distances atleast equal to the stopping distances at all points on the highways to avoid the accidents due to inadequate sight distance (Garber and Hoel, 2001).Figure 2 The length of the crest curve is greater than the stopping side distanceLength of the summit curves for stopping side distance. The two situations that need to be considered in the determination of length of the curve for stopping side distance (SSD) are (i) When the length of the curve is greater than the side distance (L SSD) and (ii) When length of the curve is less than the side distance (L For L SSD (Figure 2), the length of the vertical crest curve is given as------------------ (1) Where, L is the length of the vertical crest curve in metre, S is the stopping side distance in metre, N is the deviation angle which is equal to algebraic difference in grades, radians or tangent of the deviation angle, H is the height of the eye level of the driver above the road surface in metre, h is the height of the tendency above the pavement surface in metre. The value of H
